Criminal court records are also open to the public. In general, criminal court records contain information about criminal proceedings, including charges, arrests, and convictions. These records are maintained by the local court system and can be accessed through the

County District Clerk’s Office or online via the county portal at https://portal.co.cameron.tx.us/PortalProd/.

To request a specific criminal record, you will need to provide as much information as possible about the case, such as names of parties involved, location of the crime, case number (if available), and approximate dates of the crime. Keep in mind that, even if you have detailed information about a case, certain sensitive information may be redacted from public access in criminal court records to protect victims’ privacy, especially if they are underage.

Lastly, Cameron County’s District Attorney’s office also has documents, including court records available. To ask for these, you need to submit an application to the DA’s office. You can call (956)544-0849 for more information, or email your DA Public Info Requests form to dapir@co.cameron.tx.us.
